This is a review that I am posting after completing Platinum. I will post each Battle facility one at a time. Here's the story:
One day an awesome young man named MCD set out to become a Pokemon master with a Chimchar named WAKA (which he raised to an Infernape). He later caught a Shellos (later a Gastrodon) named Astro *coughcopyingmarrilandforfuncough* and with these two Pokemon, plus HMman the Bibarel, DIVER the Starly, and Aqua the Tentacool.
Okay, so basically, after beating the E4, I just screwed the whole 'train your own Pokemon' thing and slapped an EV'd team from my Diamond into the Battle Frontier. Again I copied Marriland's team from top to bottom. No, I'm not obsessed with Marriland or anything, his team simply trumped all of my teams in every way, being like 6 OUs.
Get familiar with RT's ripoff of Marriland's team!
Although I copied the whole team, so far I've only used Spookshire, Tiamatria, and Lucky.

I have beaten all the brains on silver. Unlike on Emerald, you can re-battle all of the brains as many times as you meet the requirements. In Emerald, you can only beat each brain once on gold, and once on silver. I am re-battling all of them on silver to get the results to you as fast as I can.
Battle Roulette
I first came to the Roulette, my favorite. The rules are simple: Before every battle, you spin a wheel (actually, more like a square), and try to stop it at the right time. You can get a whole host of effects affecting you, your opponent, or both players. For example, there are weather effects, burning all of a player's Pokemon, poisoning all of a player's Pokemon, raising all of a player's Pokemon's level by 3, lowering all of their Pokemon by 3 levels, and a lot more.

Note: Using the wheel, I handily burned all of her Pokemon.
