Yeah, so you might've seen my topic about the movie. I'd only read Twilight and New Moon, as I waited for the other two to be available in paperback.
My eagerness got the better of me. I blew 43 bucks and finished the series in hardcover.
And I loved it. It was a lot of reading though, for one week. Like, hard-to-keep-concentrated kind of reading. College must be hell. After all, I read 800+ pages in 72 hours and I find it hard to concentrate on reading anymore, and I can just imagine that, with a boring textbook. But I am now a devout fan of this sweet little unlikely romance between a vampire and an ordinary human girl. I also sort of liked the... erm, tender scenes more than I should have. :P
So, before the fangirls behead me for my last statement, anyone else a fan of the series?
I've read the first two books. It's a decent series, but I don't understand what all the fuss is about.
It's over-hyped a LOT. I'll give you that. Did you see the fans screaming at the top of their lungs as Rob Pattinson walked by? :P
The second book really ruins the experience for you. The whole thing bored me out of my mind (another reason why I was going to wait for the paperbacks to come out for the others).
But it is sort of interesting. The last book is a bit annoying, but fun at the same time. :/
First book is a good story, second is ok, third poor, fourth possibly the worst book I've read in recent years :)
If they hope to adapt the others into films, audiences had better brace themselves for some lacklustre plot development, cheesy, cliché filled dialogue, and one of the single worst climaxes ever written for a series...
Yeah, the very end, and the startling change that happens (trying not to spoil it) takes the fun out of the entire story, I'll admit. It ends a lot less unique than it began. I have to say, though, I liked the third and loathed the second. And all movie adaptations have lacklustre plots and cheesy dialogue. Especially
romances. :P
I sort of liked the last book's first and second "books," especially the interesting chapter titles of Jacob's "book," i.e. 'Sure as hell didn't see that one coming' or 'Too-much-information alert' :P
And now I shall post the entire preface of Jacob's book, and hope not to get sued. Because this is genius.

Yeah, I should be so lucky.
I read 'em all, and I like them, but I hate the fact that they're so over rated. It is unoriginal, but it's just easy to relate to the main character, Bella Swan, and the fact that Edward Cullen is so attractive (though I don't see what's so attractive about white pale icy cold skin) gets all the teeny boppers hyped up. And it seems as if they're trying to release the second film adaption a little to quickly; which means that it'll suck, for sure.
What I don't get is everyone that I know in person either HATES the series as a whole or is absolutley obssessed with it. No shades of gray there...
