Do you need the National Dex in order to get Shaymin? I know you need Mystery Gift for it. (Which I have already)

In that case, I need to step on it. (I'm at the Elite 4 front and have seen 140. Yeah I had a HUGE gap of not playing Pearl for some reason XD )

Actually, you can get the National Dex just by seeing all the Pokemon. Even if you don't beat the E4.

Though keep in mind the only place to see Spiritomb is when battling Cynthia, so you might as well kill two birds with one stone. :P
The only place to see Spiritomb assuming you don't have access to a second DS/a friend with a second DS so you can catch one on your own or get one in a trade, anyway.
You need a second one anyway to see Dialga, since you have Pearl, and all you can see is Palkia.
I thought there was an image of the other one in that particular town - you know, with that cave that teaches you stuff about the creation and all.
