Greetings, citizens of Merto!

It's been a while since I've been part of a Merto forum. The last time I did... I ran it! Ohohohoho fun times.

But enough small talk. You probably do not know who I am (some may recognize my custom title) but with my friend the Fangking's counsel, I have returned to faking! And by that I mean blanking! Fake blanking!

I have concocted a rather simple and yet expandable design with a couple of unique influences. This is a HUGE contrast with earlier blanks which were named "Doodlium" and "Imperium" which, although good works of art to look at, were cumbersome and nearly impossible to work with by anyone other than me. They were following a certain lore I developed (as there were make fake pokémon I made too) and there was a blank for each game type. And dual-types. And -ex blanks. And so on...

Ridiculous.

So I've sought to create a blank that is clean, simple to look at, and yet extremely expandable for all sorts of types of cards. I also sought to make a blank that anyone with a layers-enabled graphics program can use.

But right now I need some critiques, and possibly a title.

Let me offer you 5 prototypes. These are all remakes from various DP cards, carefully chosen to highlight key elements.



Eevee Lv.14, from Majestic Dawn. The fonts I used are the always dependable Futura LT, as well as Avenir, which is a personal favorite font of mine.



Glaceon Lv.44 from Majestic Dawn. The Stage/Evolution texture is longer than needed to accommodate long names.



Glaceon Lv.X from Majestic Dawn. The artwork is supposed to pop out but for technical considerations I didn't bother. Note the use of gold. (I hate holo effects and prefer not to use them.) Also, a Poké-BODY symbol.



Weavile Lv.37 from Diamond & Pearl. Chosen for the Darkness look (white on black).



Charmander Lv.8 from Secret Wonders. I chose this card for the Fire-type and also to highlight the zero energy symbol.

Why yes, there's a lot of blanks to do and very little time. It's not as ambitious as the Platinum blanks but still very lengthy.


Nothing else? This forum is a bit slow! :/

Are you going to post blanks slowly, or are they all going up at the same time?

I'm impatient, so I'll probably release slowly instead of waiting. Although, now that I think of it, it's really just a matter of change textures and symbols—I could pump them out in a day if I had time. I'm just holding off until I get more criticism.

I was also going to make a set, but the amount of artwork needed would make that a pain.

Good. I can't wait to see them all! I will most likely use some for some fake cards. I really can't find anything wrong with the blanks.

Here's a new card that I made recently. It's Drifloon from... Majestic Dawn I think? My friend wanted me to make it.

It's not original artwork of course, it's a remake of a real card for testing purposes...

I'll probably start making original cards when the blanks release.

Well, the format it's nice and it gives a lot of space to the illustration... Personally I think that you can arrange a little better the space for the resistance, weakness and retreat coast
Also I think that you can do the fonts of the name and description of the attack a bit smaller (I say that you should reducing the height and a wide around a 2%)
Also I think that the borders looks like dull metal, I think that you could make it a shinier, specially the Pokemon lv. X blank.
And finally, I think the Poke-body text will look better in a Italic format
