Here are some

- The Pokemon maps of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Almia: their designs are based on real parts of Japan (you might already know this)

- If you know you're doing on hacking Pokemon games, you can add this many Pokemon to the games (if you don't replace any of the official Pokemon or the Egg):

Generation I games (R/B/Y): 104 Pokemon
Generation II games (G/S/C): 3 Pokemon
Generation II games (R/S/E/FR/LG): 25 Pokemon
Generation IV games (D/P/Pt): None (Not 100% sure)

- The design of Rotom is based on game character named Pulseman (a Japan only Genesis game also made by Game Freak called "Pulseman") Plus Pulseman has almost the same powers as Rotom (execpt taking over machines)

There are four combinations of types and abilities that do not have anything super effective against it, as I know of.

Ghost/Dark, Dark/Ghost
Electric with Levitate ability
Poison/Dark, Dark/Poison with Levitate ability
Bug/Steel, Steel/Bug with Flash Fire ability
Steel/Flying, Flying/Steel with Flash Fire ability and a partner with Lightning Rod ability

Uh, last I checked:
1. Stunky, Skuntank, and Drapion are the only Pokemon with a Poison/Dark type combo, and they're weak to Ground. Plus, none of them have Levitate.
2. That's 5 combos. =/
3. In fact, only 2 of those combos actually exist.
I didn't what that a certain Pokemon had it. I'm just saying that those are 5 combinations of types and abilities.

Designed to explore space. It just can't get there. GENIUS.

It's perfectly logical- bring Porygon2 as the payload of a space shuttle. Even if it could fly, it couldn't make escape velocity, so such a feature was unneeded.

Hang on...
In Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD Porygon 2 floats.
So in a way it does fly... Doesn't it??

Can't it Sketch Chatter?
No, because of the special code that goes with it, ie: the recording what it says when you use it through the microphone.

I get what you were saying about them being theoretical combinations but dark/poison is weak to bug and fighting as well as ground, and steel/bug is weak to fighting and ground as well as fire, so just having levitate and flash fire respectively wouldn't eliminate all their weaknesses. Dark/Ghost works, as it already exists with Sableye and Spiritomb, and a levitating electric type would work too. Although the last set-up would work hypothetically, only fire-types ever have flash fire so I doubt it will ever really occur without skill-swap being involved somewhere.
Hasn't anyone noticed but in our myths dragons breath fire and Dragon pokemon can learn fire moves but there is no Fire/Dragon pokemon yet.
Here's something I didn't figure out until Colosseum: Lileep and Cradily's eyes are on the very top of it's head and in what looks like it's mouth respectively. Anorith's mouth is on the bottom of it's body. (I just noticed that today.:p)

Despite the name of the type being Grass, only one move actually deals with grass itself: Grass Knot. It didn't exist until Gen. IV at that. It really should have been named Plant or Nature or something.
lol the legendary bird thing. i felt so dumb when i figured that out like five years ago
-Volt Tackle is based off of a move that Pulseman does in his game
-Coil was going to be Magnemites original English name
-Weedle is the only pokemon that cannot learn a Normal type attack

Thats a few I got from Bulbapedia
