That only applies for G/S/C; you can easily breed family members on the newer games. Also, since in G/S/C shinies had similar IVs, the game would think that they're related and refuse to let two shiny Pokémon breed.

Did you know that in Red and Blue, Lickitung couldn't learn Lick?
Now that is interesting. Yet, at the same time it makes no sense.
Diglett appearantly has feet, it says so in PMD, but............. what do they look like?

No one will ever know. Unless someone actually decides to pick up a Diglett, but that has yet to happen.

It's always stated that no one has ever seen the inside of a Cloyster's shell, yet you can clearly see that it is a black ball thing with eyes and a mouth.

I believe that there has only ever been one reference to Hit Points in the show, when Ash was fighting a Cloyster with his Kingler.

EDIT: 100 posts, took me long enough:)

Just like no one will know what Tangela's/Tangrowth's true form is like. XD
weird facts that pokemon will never reveal...
- According to Bulbapedia, Clefairy was gonna be the Pokemon Mascot but change to Pikachu due to its popularity.
- In Fuschia City, if you do walk through walls code (in Red/Blue/Yellow/FireRed/LeafGreen) and talk any of the Pokemon behind the fences, their talk boxes say "!" (no cries are included)
- Porygon2 and Porygon-Z are the only Pokemon yet to be in the Anime (possible due that seizure incident from the banned Porygon episode.)
- The Old Man glitch even works suring on the east cost of Seafoam Island.
- In Pokemon Yellow, if you do some fishing and there is no bite, talk to Pikachu and it will have a talk bubble with a fish and then, in the Pikachu mood window, Pikachu will have a flower pot on its head.
- In the Pokemon Mansion in DPPt, the rooms that always are blocked by those two maid. If you use a walk through walls code, you'll just walk into the black area if you try to go to those rooms, so there is nothing.
- In Red/Blue/Yellow, the area of wild Pokemon grass that are unaccesable outside of Route 1 and Pallet Town have no Pokemon programed in the grass, so when you walk into the grass, the game will freeze.
Pikachu's name is not based on the small rodent called the pika, it is based on the Japanese words Pika which means electric and chu which is the onamapetia for the sound that a mouse makes.

Really? I really thought it was based of the guy called Kikaku...

Anyways, back to the Old Chateau.

Old Chateau is inhabited by two ghosts; a little girl, which can be seen when you go into the room with the painting of the red eyes and an old man, which can be seen whenentering the dining room after the player checks the statue.

On a side note, I was shocked by those two when I first saw them.
I just remembered another.

Even though Nintendo makes cross-generation evolutions a way so you can't do it in a previous game, there has only been two of them that Nintendo messed-up on: Piloswines's Evo and Lickitung's Evo because Swinub could learn AncientPower in Gen. II and III by breeding and Lickitung can learn Rollout in Gen.II by TM04 and in Gen III by learning it by a Move Tutor in Emerald Version.

Remember the face punching tangent I have, when something surprises me and if they're close enough, I punch them in the face. That would be the situation that would unfold if they were close enough to my character, but in this case, I would just press B :). Interesting about Clefairy possibly being the mascot. Would explain some emphasis on them in the first generation.
