Although you could count Lance as a Flying-trainer, since he has more Flying types than actual Dragons.
^ That may be true, but his title is "Lance the Dragon Master".

At least I think it is.
As of today, this is the second most viewed thread on Acanthite, behind Gatomon's sprite thread.
Really, there's always Bulbapedia to confirm stuff:

Quote:Charon (Japanese: プルート Pluto) is one of Team Galactic's four Commanders, introduced in Pokémon Platinum.
So, he is a Commander.

Quote:Lance (Japanese: ワタル Wataru) is a master Dragon-type Trainer, a member of the Kanto Elite Four in Generation I and Generation III and the League Champion in Generation II and Generation IV.

And that's confirmation to say that Lance is a Dragon Master, despite having more Flying types. Dragon was a great type in Generation 1, and they obviously wanted to use it in the E4. But creating a team of Dratinis, Dragonairs and Dragonites isn't really spectacular, so they were pretty much forced. :P

Consider it this way: All his Pogeymanz are in the Dragon egg group.
Actually, Aerodactyl isn't in the Dragon Egg Group. Thus, he has one Pokemon that is arguably not classified as a dragon, despite the fact that it looks like one.
There are no Dark-type gym leaders.
Quote:Lugia is the guardian of the sea, but isn't a water type.

Doduo and Dodrio can learn fly, but don't have wings.
Just noticed this. -___-

Quote:Quilava, Bayleef, and Croconaw are the only catchable starter pokemon. Pokemon Colosseum
This is true because you catch them with a shadow ball.
But you could also consider Torchic as catchable on the Pokéwalker. You actually throw a Pokéball, as seen in the little animation.
Speaking of starters, Mudkip is the most popular starter Pokemon, as seen by a poll done on GameFAQ, with with Typhlosion and Blastoise close behind.

And I still don't get that... Charmander shou- *shot*

Noctowl was the first to debut a shiny form in the Anime, the Island of pink pokemon doesn't count, btw.

Bulbasaur makes good cake.
