Pokérus is the only GOOD status condition, and it never goes away! I think it increases EVs and IVs, but I don't remember.
It is a good 'status condition'. It doubles the EVs you gain from defeating a Pokemon. But it does go away. If you leave your infected Pokemon in your party for 24 hours, the Pokerus disappears.
When it "goes away", that just means it can't infect or be infected anymore. The boost still stays.
Already beat the Arcade Brain once, just now beat the Castle Brain for the first time, Stage/Hall is proving tedious and Factory is proving EFFING IMPOSSIBLE, so I'm just going to go through the Multi Battle room in the Tower for now....
Ok so I went to the mansion and saw the manaphy. I traded over a lv. 13 squrtle from my Peril. I put the squrtle up for grabs on the gts for a manaphy. I was thinking that I wouldn't get one. I checked this morning and there it was a lv. 19 manaphy. I'm really shocked I got one for a squrtle!
Okay, I'm right in front of the E4 and I got the feeling I'm extremely underleveled. What's a decent level to try to beat the E4?
If they are currently the same level as in D/P then around 50. At least that's when I did it, but I had Dialga and Azelf. (I never used Azelf again after that.)
Just started the game today. I was going to dedicate the weekend to playing Platinum, but that's just silly :P. I'll be playing it off and on though. Anyways, spending the night at Sandgem with a party of six already.

EDIT: Just beat Flint. One of the easiest battles ever :P Houndoom used Sunny Day, Bibarel used Amnesia and Curse (With Simple it really helps :D) until Attack, Defense and Special Defense were maxed. From there, a Waterfall sweep :D
End of the match: Bibarel lost 88 HP and got burned by a Will-O-Wisp :P
I just started my Pokemon Platinum Let's Play on my Youtube channel, just thought I'd like to say...
Also, in my regular run, I'm at Galactic Headquarters with my Pokemon around level 41 (except Lucario).
Finally founs some time to beat the Champion. I managed to defeat her with only my Bibarel and two healing items :P
This is basically how it went down:
Managed to use Amnesia 2 times and Curse 3 times, maximizing Sp. Defense, Defense and Attack (yes, Bibarel has Simple ability).
After that, I used a Hyper Potion. Then, the sweeping started: Spiritomb and Lucario fainted after one Waterfall. The others couldn't resist one Return attack :P
So, 6 attacking moves just destroyed Cynthia :P
Even that Lucian person was harder.
