I was looking through some peoples reputation, and I noticed that some of us got negative rep from noobs who got banned little after.
So, I was wondering - since those noobs were obviously annoying (they wouldn't be banned if they wouldn't) they more or less asked to be boo'ed, and probably responded by giving out negative rep.
So yeah, is there a possibility to remove all rep given by permanently banned members?
Good idea? Bad idea?
Not really a problem for me (yet :P), but I think it might be annoying for the ones that do have negative reps because of members that got banned after 2 posts.
Yeah, this was something that the management had been discussing not long ago and I personally think it's a good idea. Certainly if ever I see a rep that's been given by a permabanned member, I remove it because I don't think that's something that anyone would want on record.
Against this.
1) Receiving a -rep from a noob is a badge of honor; if noobs hate you, then it means they know you stand up for this forum's integrity.
2) Receiving a +rep from a noob is also good because, well, it's a +rep!
That's why I'm against this.
Just before I saw Nyumi's post, I was going to ask, what if we want the rep? For example, I have at least three + Reps from permabanned members and I want to keep them.

I completely agree. It isn't fair to punish people rep-wise if some people thought well of them
BEFORE they were permabanned. :)
Here's my two cents:
I do not want any negative rep. I try to be as friendly as possible so I do not get any. I might not be nice to noobs, but no-one is.
I do not want any positive rep from a banned noob. It's a sign they did not understood how to behave on a forum, and a positive rep would make it seem like we're friendly. I ain't friendly with noobs, foo'.
Can only negative reps be removed? As said above, you wouldn't want your positive reps removed. Is it possible though?
Negatives, and possibly neutrals, would be the best way to go, I think. If you remove them at all- like Nyumi said, it's like a badge of honor if a noob gives you a negative.
I don't have many rep-points anyways, and none from noobs, so this doesn't completely concern me.
I think that any points given out from banned or perma-banned members should be removed at once.
I know I would only like a point given to me by someone who knows me and doesn't just give out points for the sake of it.
