Actually, Nintendo uses generic terms related to practically every one of their DS games and applications when filling in the Goods and Services section, so that's in no way related to any of the content in HeartGold and SoulSilver. The editors at the Bulbapedia needs to do their research into trademarks before they go around making assumptions like that.
I wonder what they'll do about the TM and HM list, because we are gonna need Whirlpool.
I really hope that we can play in Kanto when the game is realised but I think we can *hope**hope*
They can change the HMs, since HMs can't be traded. However, I think that the TMs will be the same as in D/P (like in FR/LG).

Well, HMs aren't transferable, so they can change the HM list completely if they want to. Don't forget, RSE have HM08 Dive and FRLG don't: it's entirely possible that GSDS will have Whirlpool as a HM.

Take a look at these:

GSC: 01 Cut, 02 Fly, 03 Surf, 04 Strength, 05 Flash, 06 Whirlpool, 07 Waterfall
DPt: 01 Cut, 02 Fly, 03 Surf, 04 Strength, 05 Defog, 06 Rock Smash, 07 Waterfall, 08 Rock Climb

Now, the GSDS list depends entirely on whether or not Game Freak decide to put scalable mountainsides into the games. If they don't, I would expect Rock Climb to be replaced with Whirlpool. If they do, I think it'd just be added as HM09. (If fog is removed, I reckon Defog would just be replaced with Flash again.)

Even though it's still a move in the games, the only Pokémon in the Johto Pokédex that can learn it by levelling-up is Shellder at LV.37. Lapras and Chinchou can learn it by breeding, but... well, it's breeding. It's not exactly easy if you don't know what you're doing.

To be honest, if Kanto's not in there, I'm not getting it. It isn't GS without Kanto.

That's true. Plus, they could have move tutors to teach the useful Johto TM moves that are DPPt TM moves.

DynamicPunch
Headbutt (unless, for some reason, they decide to make that an HM)
Rollout
Zap Cannon
Ice Punch
Fire Punch
ThunderPunch
Nightmare

EDIT: Just read your post, Cipher. That could work too.
The one move I'm wondering about is Flash. It will probably stay a TM instead of being converted back into a HM because it wouldn't make sense to have it as both, assuming we can trade amongst everything. Whirlpool will definitely be a HM, either replacing somehing or being added on.

On regard to Move Tutors, I would imagine that the Crystal move tutor would be brought back for the elemental punches (still teaching in exchange for coins). For the others it could just be like they did in FRLG, where the person who gives you the TM teaches it. Rollout could have a guy standing where TM04 used to be, and Dynamic Punch could be a blackbelt on Cianwood.

My guess is that the burned tower approach got a facelift.

Well, let's face it, Kanto in GS was pretty bad.

Exactly. If Game Freak would rather remove Kanto entirely than make it what it should be, I'll be greatly disappointed and it won't be GS. Regardless of how good or bad it is, GS isn't GS without Kanto.
True. Plus, if they remove Kanto, that means they'll have to put the Pokemon League somewhere else.
