This is the official discussion thread for Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version. These two titles are remakes of the classic Game Boy Color titles Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver respectively. They are due for release in Japan on September 12, 2009 and will be released in the United States and Europe in Spring 2010.

I am SO effing happy.

And I LMAO at the r-tards that were so adamant it wouldn't happen.

Can't wait.

We so needed these remakes, as this was the most loved generation, and Im not the only one who thinks so, ask around. Ill end up getting HG, even though SS is a much better name. Ive been waiting awile to get a Totodile [heh, rhyme], its just ashame Feraligator is a stupid last stage >.<. Lets hope the old glory of GS is still there, if so Ill be extremly happy.

And to comment on Cipher saying GreenLeaf and RedFire would make more sense...well, it would, but the other way around haas a nicer ring to it. In this case, though, wouldnt sound better to have GoldHeart and SilverSoul? That would have a better ring.

Yeah, I'm personally looking forward to these. Gold and Silver were the most enjoyable games in the franchise to me.

This is so Awesome! I'll be getting Soul Silver because I love Lugia, but I really like the Heart Gold logo!

I'll probably go in remembrance of my first ever game of Pokemon, which was on my Crystal Game, and take Cyndaquil as the starter. But yeah, I hope they keep Johto AND Kanto. That's one of the things that made it so magical!

This was inevitable. It was only a matter of how long Nintendo was going to yank our chain :D. I have high hopes for HeartGold and SoulSilver. Here's hoping they don't mess it up :). By the way, the arrangement of words HeartGold and SoulSilver makes sense to me, just like FireRed and LeafGreen.

I too hope they'll put Kanto in it as well :) I loved switching between the two, although they really have to, as that's where the Pokémon league was in 2gen as well as 1gen if I remember correctly.

I really can't wait! I just hope it comes around quicker than we had to wait for an English Platinum! :P

I don't think GreenLeaf and RedFire or GoldHeart and SilverSoul would be better names. LeafGreen and FireRed, and HeartGold and SoulSilver are color names. It's like calling Pitch-Black 'black-pitch'.

The names should be switched if you think about it. The first remakes had the nouns (Fire and Leaf) followed by the game name. It's the opposite in this case, and is slightly wierd. SilverSoul sounds right, yet GoldHeart sounds unusual; HeartGold would sound better.

But I am so excited, I can't contain it tbh. I think I'll be getting SoulSilver as Silver was my favourite way back when. The new radio should be cool, here's to more channels. :P Miltank will get new Sugi art, Woohoo :), and I can get Lugia again. I can't wait. :)

Oh, I much prefer FireRed and LeafGreen; it's just that on the basis on language structure, it should be the other way around (on the basis of coolness, it shouldn't be :P).

Anyways, yes. More and better radio channels, do something more with the PokéGear (put it on the touch screen), everything else...I can't be bothered to list every last thing I want in this game. :P
