I'm just wondering, does anyone think that stairwells are somewhat scary? Maybe it's just me, but just think about it. They are small and usually not very bright because the lights can go out and no one knows it. They also normally have no windows and usually are all stone. The ones in my building have the floor number and everything in red paint on the walls and the one dripped and looks like blood. *Shudders* They echo too, so a sudden sound could easily startle you. It's the perfect scene for a horror movie as well.

I may feel this way because of my very bad experience with a trash room when I was young, but that's a different story.
Can't say I'm keen on stairs. I'm quite tall and I've never liked heights, so big stairs, narrow stairs, stairwells etc. (I have a habit of looking up or down stairwells, my legs turn to jelly) are a bit of a no-no for me.
I hate narrow spaces, so as long as its a big space I'm good. I wouldn't like you stairwell though it sounds creepy...

Yeah, that's why I'm glad I only live on the fifth floor, but if I hear an unexpected sound, I get freaked out and start running for the door. =/
I like Stariwells, not sure why, but they definately dont bother me.
Meh... The only stairwells that scare me are the ones in old houses that creek slowly meaning even after you're done walking up them, it is one more creek after you. That is only when it is dark though.

I wouldn't be afraid of your stairs unless the lights actually go out on me while I walking up there and I can't see a thing. I would never come home late by myself, :P

But I am on the track team and I run up stairs period. Whether I am scared, mad, excited, etc... I just like getting places quicker.

By the way, yours does sound like a good setting for a horror movie. It is a natural setting too... happens without anyone having to do it themselves.
I'm not really bothered by them; but it is kinda creepy when its at a hotel at night running room to room ( tag xD). Perfect place for a murder.

Let's say I'm quite uncoordinated too, you can ask anyone. :P
To be honest, Testudo, your stairway sounds fun. :D

I was afraid of stairs when I was a kid, mostly the thought of falling down them, but with improved balance and coordination comes the ability to not think twice about going up or down stairs. I was afraid of storms too when I was really young, but now I have no fear when one rolls by, just go to the shelter when it's going to get real bad. The reason I mention that is because I enjoy things now that I used to be afraid of as a kid. Not the case for balloons, but that's a different story...
I'm not too keen on stairwells etc. I manage to trip 50% of the time I am going up the stairs.

Hmm... I really dislike too much things, but that's a different story :P
Yeah, when I was little, like 4 or 5, I would always go down the stairs on my butt, because I was afraid I'd fall.
