Ten weeks ago I took possibly one of the most important series of tests in my life: my GCSEs. For those who don't know, these exams are normal exams, although, depending on how I pass them could affect my future career choices.

For the results, I needed to get high grades (B or above) in the subjects I wanted to take, so that I could take the next two years of my education at the school I'm at. I also needed at least a C in English and Maths.
The subjects I wanted to take were Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
The grades I could get, from highest to lowest, were: A*, A, B, C, to pass.

Today, at 9 AM GMT, I recieved my results.
In Maths, I got an A*.
In Biology, I got an A.
In Chemistry, I got an A*.
In Physics, I got an A*.
In History, I got a B.
In Geography, I got a B.
In Religious Studies (blech) I got a C.
In English Language, I got an A.
In English Literature, I got a C.
In German, I got a C.
And in ICT, I got an A.

So all in all, I got the grades I needed to stay on at the school I'm at, so next week I'll be returning.

*sighs with relief*

^_^
Congratulations on a very fine set of results! I remember GCSE results day myself. Give it a year or two years, though, and you'll wonder why you ever worried about them ;)

But they are actually very important.

I'm sure you're very pleased that you got awesome grades for the subjects you'll do at A level! Well done on that! You've picked boring subjects though ;) I did chemistry and biology for a year but then changed my career path completely :)
Thanks, I think :)

And I chose the subjects that interest me, so, to each his own I guess.
Good for you! German was never easy, and what exactly is Religious Studies? History... Usually get a 42% or something...
Religious Studies is just studying other religions. It's dull and boring, and the reason I'm athiest. :)

EDIT: Also thanks. :P
Ah, Religious Studies, my speciality. Anyway, good job. I like math too, so yeah. Anyway, you have good grades and all...*Doesn't know what else to say*
Ah, I remember GCSEs. You wait 'till you get your AS and A2 Levels, a whole other level of pressure.
My Science papers were multiple choice; did they change that for your age group? Because our papers have been critiscised by our teachers for not preparing us for AS. Oh, and well done; you did much better then me x3 Four As, Three Bs and the rest were Cs in mine.

Although some people who got Ds and Es all over the shop still managed to get into Sixth form in my school, so I'd imagine you would only seriously not get in if you got all Es and Us. They say you need three As, three Bs to make it into our Sixth form, but you really just need six Cs.

I got my AS last week. I'm retaking Biology because I choked the exam (didn't fail - a pass is E at AS), and possibly one of my Classical Civilisation papers to raise it to an A. Dropping Sculpture. I need BBB minimum to get to my first choice university, and so far I have BBD D:
I dont know whether to say I am happy for you, or I expected it ;) (the good grades)
