An hour had passed, with the group finding themselves wounded and inside of a jail cell.
“Well, that could have gone better,” Light chuckled.
“You think?” Aero growled.
“Why are you acting like this is my fault?” Light inquired.
“Because you’re the one that told the guards we were going to liberate Zadon and that there was nothing they could do to stop us,” Starr answered with a sigh.
“How was I supposed to know they had tranquilizer guns?”
“You are such an idiot, Light,” Batteryman groaned.
“That seems to be a common trait among Kudamon’s friends,” said a man lying in the corner of the jail cell.
“Hey, how do you know Kudamon?” Light asked, raising an eyebrow.
Batteryman took a closer look at the man, and then slowly backed away.
“Not the way I imagined finding you, sir,” he responded.
“Whoa, it’s master Zadon,” Aero gasped.
A few seconds had passed before Aero spoke again.
“Oh, you look like terrible, sir.”
“AERO!” Batteryman shouted.
“Nah, it’s alright,” Zadon replied. “I do look terrible. I’ve been in here for days with hardly any food or water. What else would expect from that?”
He then turned towards Starr and Light.
“New recruits I guess,” he responded.
“Yes sir,” Light gleefully answered. “Alright, mission accomplished!”
“Not quite,” Starr sighed. “We still have to get Zadon out of here.”
“Oh yeah,” Light muttered.
“Hey, where’s Rayzer?” Zadon asked, looking around the room as if to find him.
“Last I checked, he was running after some guy in a cloak,” Batteryman answered.
At that moment, the cell door had opened, and a cloaked man flew into the cell.
“I’m guessing this is the guy,” Starr responded in astonishment.
This was shortly followed by Rayzer entering the cell.
“Don’t just sit there guys,” he said. “We gotta go!”
The group then dashed out of the cell, closing the door behind them.
“By the way, who was that guy?” Starr asked.
“Some guy part of a weird cult,” Rayzer answered.
Starr looked back at the door, and then turned towards Batteryman. At that point, everyone was looking at each other until everyone was looking at the door.
“That dude was part of the Cult of the Frosted Flakes,” Zadon finally said. “And if he’s here, who knows how many more of the cereal-hunting freaks are wandering around the place.”
“No doubt,” Rayzer replied. “But first, we should get out of here.”
Zadon nodded, and then dashed down a hallway. He was shortly followed by the rest of the group.
Elsewhere in the military base, guards were lying on the ground in a hallway unconscious as four men wearing sapphire cloaks preceded through the hallway. All four men concealed their faces with the hoods on their cloaks. One of the cloaked men was carrying a large bag.
“Geez, this is too easy,” the cloaked man carrying the bag said with a growl.
“I can’t believe that the lower ranked followers can’t get as much cereal as we can,” a second cloaked man replied. “I even find it embarrassing that some of them can’t obtain even an ounce of this stuff.”
“It’s no wonder that we are the top four agents of the cult,” a third cloaked man gloated.
“General Mills will undoubtedly be pleased with our work,” the fourth cloaked man cackled. “And soon, all will face the wrath of the Cult of the Frosted Flakes!”
Meanwhile in the city, Sting and Nyumi stood outside of a cave entrance.
“What the hell is a cave doing here in a city as technologically advanced as this?” Sting inquired.
“Flame Claw lives here, remember?” Nyumi answered.
“Oh yeah…. That’s right…”
“Well, it’s gonna be really dark in there. Got a light we could use?”
Sting turned to Nyumi and said, “I’m not a bloody torch. Get your own light.” He then proceeded into the cave.
Nyumi sighed and responded, “Why did I get stuck with this guy?”
“I heard that!” Sting’s voice called back.
Nyumi sighed, and then proceeded into the cave.
Back at the tower, Lord X-Giga-X was conversing with Omega and Traveler.
“This Cult of the Frosted Flakes is beginning to become an issue,” Lord X-Giga-X said. “We mustn’t let them continue with their methods of stealing people’s cereal.”
“But how will we accomplish that, my lord?” Omega inquired.
“We don’t even know where their headquarters are,” Traveler added.
“Don’t worry about that,” Lord X-Giga-X snickered. “I’ve got someone on that. We just have to deal with the underlings that wander the world. Thus, this cult will have to deal with outside forces and double agent I’ve hired.”
“Who’s the double agent?” Traveler asked.
“That’s for me to know,” Lord X-Giga-X answered. “In the meantime, there’s another issue I’ve been worried about.”
“And what would that be?” Omega asked.
“The whereabouts of Testudo,” Lord X-Giga answered.
Minutes later at the military base, the group had reached a large room full of hundreds of guards lying on the floor unconscious.
“Wow Rayzer, you sure know how to get the job done,” Aero said.
“But I didn’t do this!” Rayzer exclaimed.
“Then who could have done this?” Aero inquired.
“Maybe it was those guys,” Starr answered, pointing at the four cloaked men standing at the other side of the room.
“Whoa,” Rayzer replied. “I wonder where they got those cool cloaks.”
“I was wondering the same thing,” Light agreed. “Why don’t we have cool cloaks like that?”
“Because no one thought that cloaks would be a go idea for a uniform for the empire,” Aero answered.
“And to this day, we have no uniforms,” Batteryman added.
“Whoever these guys are, they’ve got something important,” Zadon commented, pointing to the bag that one of the cloaked men was carrying.
“Okay, what’s in that bag?” Aero asked in a rather demanding tone.
The cloaked man removed his hood, revealing a head shaped like that of a tiger.
“Cereal,” the tiger-like man answered. At that moment, he removed his cloak, revealing that he was a muscular, humanoid tiger. His body was dark orange, covered with black stripes.
“He’s with the cult!” Aero shouted.
“I got this! Neon Red: Sun Core!” Light shouted as he blasted a red sphere right at the humanoid tiger. The sphere made contact with him, but it appeared to have no effect.
“It had no effect?!” Batteryman exclaimed.
“Of course it didn’t,” the cloaked man to the left of the humanoid tiger stated. “Epic Tony trains so hard, his muscles are as hard as diamonds.”
The cloaked man to the left of that man removed his cloaked, revealing that he was a humanoid hawk. His feathers were colored similarly to those of the Toucan Sam, the mascot of Froot Loops.
The cloaked man who had previously spoken then removed his cloak, revealing that he was a humanoid rabbit. He had a crazed look on his face, as if he drank too much coffee.
“Wow, that guy looks loonier than Snookie,” Zadon chuckled.
“Shut it,” the humanoid hawk squawked. “No one asked you.”
“Now give us your cereal,” the rabbit commanded.
“But we don’t have any cereal,” Aero replied.
“We do have a box of pain to give you,” Light responded.
At that point, Zadon and Batteryman stared at Light, both raising an eyebrow.
“That could have been done better,” Batteryman said with a groan.
“Whatever,” the last cloaked man replied as he removed his cloak, revealing that he was a troll wearing a green flak jacket, black jeans, and a green bandana. “It’s not like you can do anything to stop us.”
“I say we get rid of these guys,” the humanoid rabbit suggested. He then snapped his fingers, and a machine gun appears in his hand.
“Don’t bother, Trickish Trix,” Epic Tony ordered. “We don’t have time to deal with these fools. Besides, the guards are gonna come to in a few seconds. We should let them deal with that.”
“Fine,” Trickish Trix grumbled. He then ran down a hallway behind him.
“Trollucky, Hawk Sam, let’s go,” Epic Tony commanded, referring to the two men that remained at his side.
They both nodded, and then ran down the hallway.
“Enjoy being locked up, fools,” Epic Tony replied with a roar as he retreated.
“Crap, they got away!” Aero yelled, pounding a fist into the ground.
“Uh, we’ve got other things to worry about,” Starr responded as the guards began to awaken.
Within minutes, the group was surrounded by hundreds of military guards, all pointing guns at them.
“Oh grand,” Batteryman groaned. “It’s gonna take us forever to get rid of these guards. I don’t think it can get any worse.”
“It can,” Light sighed.
“How could it possibly get any worse?” Zadon inquired, raising his voice.
Light answered, “Because the chapter’s o-”
