Hi all,

So here's the situation. In a few weeks I'll be getting my new laptop and, unlike this one, I'd rather it not get cluttered and clogged-up. I currently have three web browsers on this laptop - Firefox, Safari and Chrome. No IE due to the fact that it can be disabled on Windows 7. I know there are many others and that's why I've included an Other option - if you pick this, please explain why you prefer that browser over the others, I'll probably end up trying it out anyway.

First off, as soon as I get this new laptop, I should note that IE is being turned off immediately. I simply hate it, but I've included it in the poll anyway. :P As for the others, I absolutely love Safari, but it seems a bit clunky and I don't think I'll end up with that one. Firefox and Chrome are the two main ones I'm running: I've used Firefox for several years and love it, though I get that Chrome is faster. I feel a bit cheated in that it uses more RAM than Firefox, though, and some sites are REALLY slow on Chrome. I've tried Opera, but only briefly, as I took an immediate dislike to it for some reason.

So I want to know which one browser I should have on my new system. I don't wanna know what you use, I wanna know what you prefer and why you prefer it. As I say, I'm happy to clog up this system with as many browsers as it can take if it means finding the perfect one. :P

Ta for your help.
Firefox with NoScript and LittleFox is a fast, extremely secure browser without the standard huge GUI that eats up screen space. LittleFox is basically Firefox's default theme with reasonably-sized buttons that don't call attention to themselves.
I prefer IE8, but if you're not going to use it, then I would go with Google Chrome. This is just because at one time, I had four browsers. It was so slow(In addition to the already clogging of Sims, Spore, and some Sega game) that youtube said G.. ET... A. N.. EW.... CO.. MP... UT... ER!...!!!! So I just went with the default browser, but hey, it's still, well, fairly fast. But y'know, I'm not gonna be much help in this department.
Opera 10 for sure. The speeddial makes easy check-ups on all your favorite web sites, the browsing is fast. Everything just feels smooth and now it even supports a system of file sharing and such. Either way you can always give it a trial run and then deinstall it if you dislike it. Most people that Ive gotten to try Opera tend to stick with it
Firefox. IE8 is still a bit buggy (I use it at home), Safari and Opera are pretty bad IMO, Chrome is a bit behind IMO. Firefox (Used on the University of Calgary's Computers) is consistant, easy to use, and was years ahead of IE wth Task Bars, something IE STILL doesn't have, a download manager.
I'm using Firefox :) It is teh epic, although it's a little slow it's pretty reliable.
I prefer Firefox, cause IE has no image transparency support. Also, some sites run faster on Firefox than IE.
use safari. I find it fast, and reliable. Never really gets clunky.
Well, the only one I've tried other than IE is Firefox, and I really like it. It's just very user-friendly and just plain better. So I guess I'll say that. xD
Okay, so far, I've tried Opera again and I can't live with it. For me, it's very visually unappealing. Safari, I won't be using as much as I love it, because it doesn't have the keyboard shortcuts I'm used to and, Apple being Apple, you can't change that. So it's either Firefox or Chrome, and it'll probably be Firefox, but I'm still trying 'em both out.
