OK, what in the name of Arceus is a 'rose parade'? And don't call this a fail or win or anything, I practically live on the other side of the Northern Hemisphere.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm quite sure that it's a ceremony held before the Rose Bowl (in California, for the uninformed).

oh, the rose bowl is actually a big football game,it starts after the parade ends. this year there's going to be two big games that day! history is about to be made.(i know that the question you asked was joke but i still wanted to answer)
