Shock, Zip, and Mark were walking down a simple street with cobblestone walkways and simple redbricked apartments and stores. Shock finally stopped at one of them. "sopravvivenza e medici." Shock read. "Let's take a look inside." Shock replied to Mark and Zip, all of them walking into the shop. All around them were all sorts of different survival tools and belts. Mark looked around casually. The air conditioning was soothing, but someone had turned it on full blast, giving him goose bumps. Zip looked around and smiled. There were 24 hour to 72 hour kits, survival straps, SOS bars, space blankets, heat pads, and other amazing things. Shock studied everything approvingly. "Alright guys, grab one 72 hour kit for everyone in the group, and then some." Mark and Zip both nodded, heading toward the backpacks that were the kits. Shock went over and studied some sturdy backpacks, checking content storage and such. Mark pulled the packs over to Shock, his hands completely full along with his mouth. Shock turned around to see him. "Didn't Zip want to help?" he asked. Mark grunted, pointing toward the girl's bathroom. Shock laughed. "Alright, let's go cash in our things."
As soon as they had finished packing the last kits into huge plastic bags, they headed toward a food store, where they begged Shock to buy them both Snickers bars. Suddenly Shock stopped them in front of a clothing store. "Say, what do you say we get ourselves some decent clothes?" Shock asked. Zip squealed, running in, Mark following a little slower.
Shock sighed, following inside the aire conditioned and well-lit store. He could see Mark mischeviously hiding in the middle of the hangers like a 5 year old and Zip looking at pretty dresses, trying to see if they'd fit her.
Mark made his way through the clothing, pulling out a white and black striped zip up hoodie and a blue shirt with a design of wind and a dragon in the wind. Mark looked at his own clothing. He realized how filthy he looked and how his clothes were on the verge of just falling off. Mark went into a changing room and tried them on, along with dark blue jeans with a lighter blue color fading into the knees. Then he continued to look through all different sorts of clothing, mostly lounging around and hanging near Zip as she picked out random shirts or jeans. Mark watched as Zip smiled at a pretty pink shirt with a thin hood mostly for style. He didn't know why, but he couldn't help taking his eyes off her. There was something about her, something... different. Mark thought instantly of his girlfriend back at home. Zip and I are just friends, Mark told himself assuringly. They couldn't possibly be more than friends. Zip turned towards Mark and smiled, holding up the shirt to her torso. "How does it look?" she asked. Mark smiled. "It'll look great on you." he replied. She smiled wider and walked to the dressing room.
As Mark watched her walk off, he felt a sense of longing. He knew he wanted more.

As Shock, Zip, and Mark headed home in their new clothes- Shock in a studded leather trenchcoat and black pants with yellow seams and a yellow shirt, Zip in a bright yellow T-shirt and bright blue jeans, and Mark in his new jacket, shirt and pants- with the other's clothing dangling from their arms, they heard an explosion. Shock looked around hurriedly, trying to figure out who had caused it. Mark looked to see some smoke coming from their apartment complex. Zip looked at Mark with alarm. Instantly Zip and Mark dropped the bags they were carrying and started running forward, Zip grabbing Mark instantly flying through the air at great speeds until they stopped in front of the restaurant. Smoke billowed over the sooty blues and yellows and reds of the restaurant, fire pouring out like water. Zip sighed with relief. Only the restaurant was being burned, and the restaurant wasn't much of the building. Then suddenly Zip yelled out a familiar name.
"Lexal!" she screamed into the flames, but no answer came. Mark stood in silent horror. Lexal was inside when they left! Finally Zip started tearing up, her voice growing hoarse. Mark came over and gave Zip a hug as she knelt down on the ground. Shock appeared a little later around the corner, appauled at the scene. Soon fire trucks came from the corner, along with ambulances and policemen. Firemen finally put out the blaze, some of the inspectors coming out of the restaurant and talking to Shock. Shock nodded and went over to Zip and Mark, Zip regaining to her feet. Shock looked at them hesitantly. "There were no traces of Lexal." he responded. Zip and Mark both looked at each other. "What does that mean?" Mark inquired. Shock shrugged, looking around. "He could be anywhere."
