Well, I was working on a big image in Photoshop when I realized that I might not have had the background transparent. I tried to erase and it wouldn't do anything, so I assumed it was okay. However, when I tried to paste it onto something else, the background stayed. I have no idea how to make the baskground go away and have it able to be pasted and have the little translucent pixels blend. So, would someone please either make this picture's background transparent or at least tell me how(the program I'm using is Adobe Photoshop Elements 6).

The Image:

It has a bit of a halo going on, but it's the best I could do:

It's good enough for me. Thank you, Aki, this was a big help. If you hadn't, I'd have had to make the whole thing over from scratch(the horror...) Besides, that halo actually gives it a cool glow-y effect.
If you use GIMP, I've had the same problem. You have to copy the whole image, delete the "Background" layer, and paste it. Then you can get rid of the background.

Yeah. But, you did want to help, so I thank you for trying. Also, the picture has served its purpose now.
