As I have explained in the previous thread, we are getting a lot of games which can accurately be described as rubbish, and it is for that reason that we are tightening rules. We want to be a shining beacon for the GameDev community, and so we want the best quality games that we can get. If this means that you have to step up your game, then that's what's going to happen.

I am going to make it very clear what is expected of your project for you to post it here. Anything else will be (locked/deleted/removed to an archive).

So, if you want to discuss your TOTALY EPOC!!!1one1!!! Pokémon Horseradish Version: Ressurection of Magikarp, here's what you need to provide:

1. At least six screenshots, or one minute of video, or a playable demo. A playable demo is not five minutes of gameplay, it is something that actually goes quite a way into the game, for example to the first two or three gyms, with several capturable and trainable Pokémon. The six screenshots must be of different things, and neither title screens nor maps count as one of the six. This is a non-negotiable rule.

2. Credits. You're using someone's stuff, so tell us that. Credit where credit's due, and all that. This rule is non-negotiable.

3. A plot summary, if relevant. Nobody's going to force you to post one for a puzzle game, or a Dwarf Fortress clone, but if your plot is important to your game on a conceptual level you'd better have something there. This is particularly important for Pokémon fangames, where we expect about two hundred words of plot. That's about three paragraphs

And, the fourth and most important rule:

4. Don't bother us with rubbish. If you have all of this content, and it unambiguously sucks, a moderator can remove your thread for that reason alone. Do it well or don't do it - that's what the new regime boils down to.

As I've said before, threads will be moderated, so don't freak out if your thread doesn't show up straight away - if it fits the requirements, it will very soon. Please continue to use the following thread beginning, so we can clearly see what the game is called, who made it, and how:

Code:
[align=center][size=large][b]Project Name[/b][/size][/align]

[b]Software used:[/b] Name of software
[b]Project founder(s):[/b] Name of founder(s)

And with that, we're done. Any questions, please contact me by PM, but otherwise, happy fangaming.

Thanks to Afti, Magma King and Kudamon for helping out!
This would be classed as an acceptable thread (Cipher originally put this together):

Pokémon Acanthite Version

Software used: RPG Maker XP
Project founder(s): Fangking Omega

Pokémon Acanthite Version is intended to set the scene for the Gold and Silver era of games. This prequel takes place some months before the events of Gold and Silver and it endeavours to explain the nature of the rival character from those games (who shall be referred to as Kamon). Pokémon Acanthite will attempt to explain Kamon’s seemingly evil and uncaring attitude observed in the GSC series by revealing the series of events that made him the way he is.

Storyline

Almost three years had passed since the fall of the once mighty Team Rocket at the hands of an emerging young Pokémon Trainer. The Rocket organisation, once devoted to crime and corruption, vanished without trace. The region of Kanto was at last free from the pollution of their evil and Team Rocket had become little more than a memory.

However, even without the guiding hand of former boss Giovanni, there were whispers among former Rocket members about a revival. In secret, they began to reform under the leadership of Giovanni’s ruthless General, Argus. Feared and respected greatly among his peers, he assumed the mantle of Team Rocket Boss as they planned their comeback. Under his iron will, they were prepared to take the steps they needed to in order to regain the power they once held.
