They're most definitely up to something with Mewtwo now. He even has his own subsite. I really wonder why they're trying so hard to promote Mewtwo... as am I curious as to where this is leading.

Possible theories:
- "Mewthree" in Gen VI to counter Genesect.
- Mewtwo vs. Genesect film/conclusion in Best Wishes - y'know the whole Rocket vs. Plasma thing that was meant to have started? Might lead into it.

Thoughts?

I just rewatched the Mirage thing... Gato, are you in my mind? :P God that special was awful - not only were the new VA's a little underpracticed (even in the redub) but the animation guys were obviously a little distracted given the subpar quality.

I think if it is the Mewtwo vs. Genesect thing it's likely to be either a film or the focus for a filler arc post-Unova (think lolrange Islands/Battle Frontier). I don't think they'd just throwaway such great potential as a special.

You're overthinking this.

Game Freak loves money. They will not be satisfied until they can build the Death Star out of large-denomination bills.

We're expecting Generation III remakes- but Generation III is the first generation to include remakes.

They're remaking FireRed and LeafGreen, because they can.

Eventually we will reach a remake singularity that consumes the entire universe in a cavalcade of remade remakes, but until then Game Freak will be satisfied to print money.
